Terms and conditions of use
GENERAL RENTAL CONDITIONS This contract represents a summary of the main provisions of the General Rental Conditions which, together with the rental agreement signed by the Customer, constitute the exclusive source that governs the contractual relationship between the rental company RENT ONE SRL and the customer or its Affiliates.

VEHICLE ASSIGNMENT

The driving of the rented vehicle and/or motorcycle is permitted only to persons holding a valid driving license of type "A1", "A2", "A3", and "B". The following minimum age requirements apply: The vehicle and/or motorcycle is assigned to the Customer under the assumption that it will be personally driven by them. The Customer assumes all risks or liabilities if they allow a third party to drive the vehicle and/or motorcycle, including under Article 116, paragraph 12 of the Italian Highway Code (D.L. 285/92), related to entrusting the vehicle and/or motorcycle to a person without a driving license or otherwise not authorized by the rental company. The Customer may communicate to the rental company the names of any additional drivers, who may then be authorized upon presenting the appropriate driving authorization (license). For each additional authorized driver, a daily surcharge is required, amounting to 50% of the rental rate for the type of vehicle and/or motorcycle already rented. For certain vehicle groups in specific areas, at the discretion of the Rental Company, the possession of two credit cards may be required.

RENTAL PAYMENT

Payment can be made via credit/debit cards, subject to authorization from the issuing institution, or in cash. Cash payments require a security deposit via a cashier’s check made out to Rent One Srl. The deposit amount is determined based on the type of vehicle and/or motorcycle rented. Customers with a financial credit card authorize the Rental Company to charge all fees due under the rental agreement, including any necessary charges for debt recovery related to the rental.

INSURANCE DEDUCTIBLES FOR DAMAGE, LIABILITY, THEFT, AND FIRE

The rented vehicle and/or motorcycle is covered by liability insurance (R.C.A.) and KASCO in compliance with applicable laws. If the Customer is involved in any of the above-mentioned events, they will be responsible for the deductible amount stated in the rental agreement. In case of theft and/or fire, the deductible chargeable to the Customer is also indicated in the rental agreement and varies depending on the vehicle and/or motorcycle rented. (A) In the event of total non-repairability of the rented vehicle and/or motorcycle due to a severe accident, drunk driving, and/or drug use, the deductible chargeable to the Customer equals 100% of the current value of the rented vehicle and/or motorcycle. For vehicles and/or motorcycles equipped with Diablock or Blockshaft anti-theft devices, if the Customer, as a theft victim, fails to return the original key along with one of the mentioned anti-theft keys, they must pay a deductible equal to 100% of the current value of the vehicle. In all cases of accidents, theft, or fire (partial or total), the Customer is required to file a regular report with the competent authorities and deliver it to the rental company within 12 hours of the event. Damages resulting from an accident will not be charged to the Customer if they provide a CID form with clear and signed responsibility of the other party. The Customer may opt for an Additional Service that reduces or eliminates the penalty for economic liability in case they are responsible for damages to the vehicle and/or motorcycle. This Additional Service, besides incurring an extra cost on the standard rental price, does not exempt the Customer from exercising ordinary diligence in vehicle operation. Rent One Srl reserves the right to charge a penalty for damages attributable to the Customer’s responsibility.

FUEL SERVICE

The rented vehicle and/or motorcycle must be returned with the same fuel level as at the time of delivery. For every missing liter of fuel, the Customer will be charged €2.50 per liter plus a fuel refueling fee of €30.00 (excluding VAT).

MILEAGE

Mileage limits and extra mileage costs for the rented vehicle and/or motorcycle are specified in the rental agreement.

VEHICLE USAGE

The Customer is authorized to drive in Italy and undertakes not to drive the vehicle and/or motorcycle in countries other than those explicitly listed in the "green card" provided with the vehicle documents. Any unauthorized or illegal use under the contract or by law obliges the Customer to compensate for any resulting damages. This may include liability for other drivers and eliminates any liability limitations, exposing the Customer to relevant financial responsibilities. The Rental Company reserves the right to repossess the vehicle and/or motorcycle at any time and place in case of contract violations. The Customer is responsible for the proper use and regular maintenance of the vehicle. In case of roadside assistance needs (e.g., breakdown or accident), the Customer must contact the Rental Company for instructions using the numbers specified in the rental agreement. The Rental Company is not liable for losses or damages resulting from vehicle/motorcycle breakdowns, delayed delivery, deterioration of goods, or any other damages unless caused by willful misconduct or gross negligence. The Rental Company is also not liable for damage to or loss of items transported in or left inside the returned vehicle/motorcycle. The Customer is responsible for traffic violations, fines, tolls, parking fees, and any other charges incurred during the rental period, even if committed by third parties. The Customer agrees to reimburse any amounts advanced by the Rental Company, including legal, postal, and administrative costs. One-way rental service is NOT allowed unless expressly authorized by the Rental Company.

VEHICLE RETURN

At the start of the rental, the Customer must commit to a return date for the vehicle/motorcycle. Any changes must be communicated to the Rental Company in advance. A rental day is considered 24 hours, with a 59-minute grace period. Beyond this, an additional rental day will be charged. For rate plans with time limits (e.g., weekend, weekly rates), exceeding the time limit results in a full daily rate charge. The vehicle must be returned during the Rental Company's operating hours. If return outside these hours is authorized, the rental is considered closed at the next opening time. Failure to return the vehicle/motorcycle keys will result in continued rental charges until they are returned or a loss/theft report is provided. Loss or theft of the vehicle/motorcycle keys will incur a penalty of €600.00 (excluding VAT). The Customer must return the vehicle in the same condition as at the start of the rental, except for normal wear and tear. Loss or theft of the vehicle/motorcycle's original registration document will result in a penalty of €200.00 (excluding VAT).

ODOMETER

If the odometer malfunctions or mileage cannot be determined, a conventional charge of 300 km per day will be applied.

APPLICABLE LAW AND JURISDICTION

These Terms and Conditions are governed by Italian law. Any disputes regarding their validity, interpretation, execution, or termination shall be under the jurisdiction of the court where the Customer rented the vehicle.

PRIVACY

Personal data processing follows the GDPR 2016/679 guidelines, ensuring transparency and protection of user rights. For detailed privacy terms, data collection purposes, retention periods, and user rights, refer to the full Privacy Policy document available at Rent One Srl. If the Customer chooses to pay in a currency different from the rental quote, the exchange rate will be calculated using the CITI-BANK rate plus a 4% surcharge to cover banking fees and exchange rate risks.
